Has anyone spent a lot of time living in Bar Harbor? What is the town like?

I'm looking to move work there, and I wanted to know current and former residents of what you think. I love the places that have meaning for the community, and a culture strange.

Downtown noise battle intensifies
Residents living in downtown Fayetteville say they worry about a bourgeoning of bars and nightclubs - and the loud music and raucous crowds they can draw.
When city planners last month announced proposed zoning changes that would have loosened rules for new bars and nightclubs downtown, members of the Downtown Federation rallied a quiet protest - and won.
Members of the alliance, a private intimacy representing downtown interests and property owners, don't want Hay Alley to return its rowdy, honky-tonk days when strip clubs and bars were simple more than 20 years ago.
"I can remember when Hay Street was a byword for debauchery," said Ed Beddingfield, parson of First Baptist Church on Anderson Street downtown.
The pastor was among the half-dozen people who spoke at a union Tuesday called by the Downtown Alliance to talk about noisy neighbors.
Over the done decade, the city center has seen an impressive resurgence. The burgh long ago banished adult entertainment from downtown, and some older buildings have been knocked down. Real estate values have skyrocketed.
