PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The New York Times had some big-hearted words for the new Quiet Man Public House on North Division Row in its Jan. 6 edition.

Dining reviewer Emily DeNitto complimented the Irish beer preference and traditional old country decor, as well as the food, including appetizers like the cheddar ale pledge and entrees like the Shepherd's Pie.

"This is a place that takes its beer, and the factual Irish pub experience, seriously," said DeNitto before giving the pub a favorable "good it" review. The full review can be found  here . 

This comes only a few weeks after two other diocese bars were named to the annual  best bars beadroll  by Westchester Magazine in its January issue. The Peekskill Brewery at 55 Hudson Ave. and The Birdsall Brothel at 970 Main St. were both named among the 31 bars chosen for the schedule.

Writer Jeanne Muchnick chose The Birdsall House for the bibliography because of its ambience as a casual beer joint and its wide selection of drinks.
