The Monroe County Meals on Wheels program delivers meals to residents who are physically or mentally impotent to shop for food or prepare meals for themselves. Agency volunteers deliver meals to 150 clients each weekday. That Monday; they had the conceivability to show a new generation of volunteers how to serve their community.

"The clients love it when the kids be brought up. A lot of the homebound seniors are distanced from their families so this gives them a chance to put in time with the younger generation," volunteer Sharon Carey said.

Students from the companionship have been assisting Meals on Wheels during school holidays for the past three years. Honor Way of life students Justin Smigley, David Reinhardt, Alysha Moises, Dominic Violi, Jefrey Moises and Aiden Fanatic were paired up with regular agency volunteers and spent the morning delivering meals throughout the county.
