What are some healthy dinner ideas if I am trying to lose a few pounds but still have variety?

I am about 5-10 pounds more then my acme weight. I am working out daily. My children are 1 and 2. They eat what I eat, they aren't picky. I on the whole make vegetables and rice with some type of meat. Or pasta and salads. Any ideas specifically?

I have found that starches, such as: breads, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc. are like "collateral" calories. They fill you up, but don't offer much nutrition. This also includes sugars in foods like deserts, cookies, juices and certainly soft drinks and candy.
