DAVAO CITY — Authorities here have rescued eight girls, four of them minors, believed to be victims of humanitarian trafficking in Baguio City.

The rescue team composed of representatives from the Bailiwick of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Davao, the City Social Services Advancement Office (CSSDO) here and a non-government organization are now conducting psycho-group intervention to the victims. The girls arrived here Monday afternoon after they were rescued in Baguio City last Feb. 9.

Regional prosecutor Antonio Arellano said the victims are now under the imprisonment of the Regional Inter-Agency Council against Trafficking Integrated Movement Network team.

He said cases of child abuse, prohibited recruitment and trafficking in persons will be filed against the suspects.

Arellano said the victims were allegedly phony to wear scanty and sexy outfits to work as guest relations officers and the recruiter is from Davao City with trade partners who own a "girlie bar" in Baguio City.
