FORT MADISON, IOWA -- A dominating economic development announcement in Southeast Iowa means the origin of 65 jobs and a $20 million dollar investment.

Pinnacle Foods is adding new by-product lines to their plant in Fort Madison.

W ith Iowa  G overnor Terry Branstad and Fort Madison  M ayor Steve Ireland on supervision to cut the ribbon, Pinnacle Foods officially opened their 17,000 square foot flourishing at their facility.

" It's truly been a partnership and you know it's really great to be a part of this burgeoning. And it's great for the city of Fort Madison to be involved in job creation and we're auspicious to do it , said Ireland.

The Fort Madison plant manufactures a perfect line of food products including vienna sausages, armour make corned beef hash and beef stew. Their newest path will include Nalley brand chili. The company likes what they have in Lee County and they wanted to keep their 40 year biography going.

" And we're also glad of course that as a result of this expansion we've been able to sire some jobs here in Fort Madison. This is a great example, this project of how role and government can work together to create mutually beneficial value ," said David Socolow, defect president of corporate affairs for Pinnacle.
