Is Royal Canin dog food really that good?

I have a German driving puppy (8 months). I used Nutro before, but I tried Royal Canin, and it seems like it more ... I heard good review about Royal Canin, but it is quite expensinve. it is definitely worth the money?
Nutro and Royal Canin foods are very similar. You can see the difference with the Royal Canin, since they make a specific formula for the German Shepard. Enough with the price you pay for Royal Canin, I would get a dog food like Canine Caviar.
