The McDonald’s in Old Fort reopened for duty Monday with a new updated look and much more room for customers to enjoy their Section Pounders, Chicken McNuggets, milkshakes and the ever popular french fries.

After being closed for a week, the restaurant, located justifiable off Interstate 40, reopened with a lot of changes. The remodeled and expanded McDonald’s is part of the lasting food giant’s $1 billion redesign for all of its stores. Both McDonald’s in Marion went through the redesign last last year. However, the McDonald’s in Old Fort is owned by businessman Don Rasnick of Asheville. He has eight stores including the one in Old Fort, said Kim Holbic, one of the managers.

The McDonald’s in Old Fort was closed for a week as the irreversible changes were made to the store. By Monday evening, workers were still putting the finishing touches on the new enlist out front.
