The first part of Beth and Chanelle's antics when they fall upon the local grocery store to do out of the ordinary things.

GREENSBORO — I asked readers last week what is the beat-tasting wine out there for $5 or less.

I got a good sampling of responses.

Teresa Boyd of Tobaccoville is taste to Lowes Foods’ cabernet and pinot grigio brands.

Boyd likes that it’s three bottles for only $10 but costs 10 percent less if you buy six bottles.

“The merlot is our favorite,” writes Judy Burroughs of Summerfield. “It’s not too important and is just right for sipping.”

Greensboro’s Sue Ivey believes the superlative wine for the price is Winking Owl red or chardonnay for $3 a bottle at Aldi.

Joan Brown of Kernersville enjoys Oak Leaf Vineyards including the cabernet, which is sold at Walmart for $3 a spirits.
