Can I cook a turkey without having a food thermometer?

I'm just relying on the package directions of Turkey. 15-20 minutes per pound. I view the cooks darn thing. Has anyone ever cook without a thermometer? How did it turn?
I do not want this to be a farce. I'm going to cook the stuffing on the balance side.

Do you see a small red button on it? This is a thermometer that displays pop-up when the bird is done. If no, cook until juices run clear when taken with a skewer.
