Tim Bane of Nathalie is $1 million richer. After purchasing a bewitching New Year’s Millionaire Raffle ticket at the Clarksville Food Lion, Bane is one of three winners who will win $1 million before taxes. Other winners were from Stuart’s Compose and Great Falls.

Virginia Lottery Executive Director Paula Otto traveled to Clarksville on Wednesday afternoon to introduce Bane with his $1 million prize. In addition, Food Lion received a $10,000 hand-out for selling the top-prize winning ticket.

“I want to thank you managers and Food Lion for all your severely work,” said Otto.

Just so happens, Bane is the co-op give credence to manager at the Clarksville Food Lion and had never played the Virginia New Year’s Millionaire Lottery before, and according to him, he doesn’t play the lottery much at all.

However, he thought, “what the heck” and blew $20 on Dec. 19 purchasing the ticket that would transmute his life.
