The Siouxland Food Bank is constant into tough times. Tuesday, they received a truck-load of food, but it wasn't not busy.

Donations are running so low, they had to buy it. The 40,000 tons they purchased will only last a few months, but it expenditure more than $20,000. Officials say donations are half of what they were just a few years ago. At the same on occasion, the need continues to grow.

"The Food Bank of Siouxland does advantage product from time to time we'll usually order a few cases or palettes at a in days of yore. It's very rare for us to purchase an entire truck load as we are today, but we have reached a full stop where enough product on the floor just couldn't be found any other way," said the Siouxland Food Bank's Linda Scheid.

The food bank's donations often sign in from companies, but they say they'll take any help they can get, whether it be food or funds.

"If somebody says to me what do you in fact want most, I always say funds because I know what I need most, so if you're bringing me na beans and I have a lot of those, and I'd rather have sliced carrots or sweet peas, then I can buy the items that I need," said Scheid.
